| A temple built by Doseonguksa, a master of Meditation and
Feng-shui, in 887 (the reign of Queen Jinseong in Silla Dynasty).
It used to have three Buddhist halls, 12 Buddhist nunneries
and 12 a monk's cells. |
This temple has 'Gangcheonsan 5-story Stone Pagoda (Tangible
Cultural Property No. 92),' 'Gangcheonsan Papaya Tree' and Budojeon
where Buddha's bones are enshrined.

Manilsa' is named after Muhakdaesa(a renowned monk) offered
a prayer for 'Manil(10,000 days).' According to a stone monument
here, while Taejo Lee Seong-Gye, the founder of the Joseon Dynasty,
was on his way to visit Muhakdaesa, he had the most delicious
lunch with Gochujang ever in Sunchang. Because he missed the
hot pepper paste so much even after he became the first King
of Joseon Dynasty, it was presented to the King.

| This temple was built by Seungjebeopsa in 627 (the 35th year
of King Mu, Baekje Dynasty) and remodeled by Gakunseonsa in
1392 (the first of King Taejo, Joseon Dynasty). It was totally
destroyed during Korean War and restored in 1957. In 2000, 15
books of Wolinseokbo (a grand collection of two Buddhist Sutras)
were discovered and |
designated as national treasure.
In this temple stands a 600-year-old ginkgo tree.
